Improved femtocell base station from DoCoMo

NTT DoCoMo Inc. announced Tuesday that it has developed an improved model of its femtocell base station.

The improved femtocell base station is HSPA (high speed packet access) compliant.

DoCoMo has been deploying femtocell base stations in high-rise buildings and underground facilities to extend its coverage of mobile communications since 2007.

However, their communications performance is poorer than the HSPA system.
