NHK (Nippon Hoso Kokai: Japan Broadcasting Corp.) announced Thursday that the number of receivers for terrestrial digital TV broadcasting in the field--including flat-screen and CRT televisions, and PCs with a built-in tuner--reached 53.37 million in June.
The number was smaller than expected by a panel to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC).
