Facebook sees more visitors from Japan (3)

According to the result of a survey conducted by a Japan-based research company NetRatings Japan Inc., although Facebook has grown enough to gain 1.39 million visitors from Japan in November 2009, the number represented one percent of that in the U.S. and 15 percent of that gained by mixi, Japan's SNS giant.

In addition, average time spent and number of visits per visitor from Japan on Facebook are behind the U.S. and mixi.

The average time spent per visitor from Japan on Facebook is 36 minutes and 7 seconds in November 2009, which is 10 percent of that in the U.S. and 13 percent of that gained by mixi.

The average number of visits per visitor from Japan on Facebook is 3.4 in November 2009, which is 18 percent of that in the U.S. and 18 percent of that gained by mixi.

Video searching/viewing application for iPhone/iPod touch

Tokyo, Japan-based Infocity, Inc., an ICT-related company, announced on December 24 that it began to provide a video searching/viewing application dedicated to the iPhone/iPod touch.

Its application Peece.TVforiPhone/iPodTouch, available from the App Store at ¥600, allows the user to search video sharing websites and view the videos on them.

The user can bookmark the search results and her/his viewing history and inform others of her/his favorite videos by means of Twitter.

Facebook has been adaptive to Japanese language since May 2008 and grown enough to gain 1.39 million visitors in November 2009, according to the result of a survey conducted by a Japan-based research company.

The number of 1.39 million represented one percent of that in the U.S. and 15 percent of that gained by mixi, Japan's SNS giant.

Where do you access Facebook from?

NetRatings Japan Inc., a research company in Japan, announced on December 24 that the number of visitors to Facebook from Japan is leaping.

The number reached 1.39 million in November, being up 390% compared with the same month last year.

The delivery is part of a pay service from DoCoMo.
