Survival in digitization of TV in Japan (74) -- Tokyo Sky Tree begins to operate in January 2013

Can you see the Tokyo Sky Tree from where you live?

The Kanto Bureau of Telecommunications, a division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), announced on December 17 that it has given NHK (Nippon Hoso Kyokai: Japan Broadcasting Corp.) and the five key commercial TV stations in Tokyo a permission to move their broadcasting equipment from the existing Tokyo Tower to the Tokyo Sky Tree.

The Tokyo Sky Tree is expected to begin to broadcast TV programs in January 2013.
