The CATV service provider giant Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. announced its strategy to address the migration to the digital TV broadcasting in Japan on October 10.
The migration has been hampered by the users' unawareness of the TV digitization in 2011, the company pointed out.

Terrestrial digital TV tuner is prevailing (1)―tops 40 million
NHK (Nippon Hoso Kyokai) announced Thursday that the number of terrestrial digital TV tuners shipped in Japan has reached 40 million.
The tuners include TV sets and PCs with a terrestrial digital TV card embedded.

Survival in digitization of TV in Japan (12)―Buffalo's tuner
Buffalo Inc. announced Thursday that it will launch a digital TV tuner for analog TV before the end of this year.
The tuner, DTV-S30, receives terrestrial digital broadcasts and converts them so that you can watch them on an existing analog TV set.
The company will introduce open pricing for the tuner.

Mac receives terrestrial digital TV broadcasts (2)
The terrestrial digital TV tuner for Macintosh, CaptyTV Hi-Vision (PIX-DT141-PU0), which an Osaka-based company, PIXELA CORPORATION, released at stores on September 5 allows you only watch TV at this time.
The company is expected to offer upgrades for recording in October and for EPG (electronic program guide) in November.

Mac receives terrestrial digital TV broadcasts (1)
PIXELA CORPORATION, an Osaka-based company, released a terrestrial digital TV tuner for Macintosh at stores on September 5.
The tuner CaptyTV Hi-Vision (PIX-DT141-PU0) is the industry's first one that works with a Mac.
It has come to BicCamera and Yodobashi Camera with a price tag of ¥ 22,800.
