Kyoto University has opened its door to the public so that YouTube viewers can have the lectures.
The viewers can watch about 200 videos posted by the university not only on PC but also NTT DoCoMo's cellphone for now.

Pizza is ordered on video sharing site
Niwango, inc. has launched a service that allows for an order for pizza on its video sharing site Nico Nico Douga.
When the viewer of the site enters a message including “@ピザ ” (pizza), the dedicated window pops up on which the viewer can order a Domino's Pizza online.
The service is available in the Kansai and Kanto area for now.

PNP and NK follow suit on YouTube
The People's New Party (PNP) and the New Komeito (NK) party aka the New Clean Government Party (NCGP) have started their own channels on YouTube.
On YouTube, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP) have operated their channels since December 2007.
The four political parties use the system “Brand Channel” on YouTube.
The channel is for an enterprise or an organization to manage its own page on YouTube.

Safari formally supports Windows
Apple Inc. released the latest version of its Web browser, Safari 3.1, on March 18.
In the release, Safari for Windows has got through the beta to the completed.
In addition, the Japanese-enabled Safari shows the menus in Japanese.
Apple claims Safari 3.1 displays pages 1.9 times faster than Internet Explorer and 1.7 times faster than Firefox.

Google changed face to Japan
Google Inc. has renewed its homepage for Japan―Google 日本.
It places the links to Google's services including YouTube and Gmail in response to the voices of its users.
Many of the users expected Google to make it easier to find the entrances to the services on its homepage.

Search for favorite characters by face detection technology
NEC Corp. announced on January 10th that it has developed a technology to enable classification of videos by characters using the face detection algorithm.
This technology is expected to adapt to video sharing Web sites, hard disc video recorders/players for consumers, and so on.
NEC claims about eighty percent accuracy of the face detection.
