The HatenaFotolife for Android is an application for Android keitai users to upload photos.

The application allows the user to post photos to the photo sharing website HatenaFotolife without operation of her/his Android-based cellphone for uploading them.

Do you often upload photos from your Android keitai?

Hatena Co., Ltd., Kyoto, Japan-based web services company, officially released an application that allows Android-based cellphone users to upload and share photos on its photo sharing website HatenaFotolife on Thursday.

Its application HatenaFotolife for Android is available from the Android Market for free.

Video searching/viewing application for iPhone/iPod touch

Tokyo, Japan-based Infocity, Inc., an ICT-related company, announced on December 24 that it began to provide a video searching/viewing application dedicated to the iPhone/iPod touch.

Its application Peece.TVforiPhone/iPodTouch, available from the App Store at ¥600, allows the user to search video sharing websites and view the videos on them.

The user can bookmark the search results and her/his viewing history and inform others of her/his favorite videos by means of Twitter.

Ameba's micro-blogging service threatens Twitter?

CyberAgent, Inc., one of major blog service providers in Japan, launched a micro-blogging service for cellphone on December 8 and for PC on December 10.

Its micro-blogging service Ameba Now challenges Twitter by leveraging about 6,000 celebrity members of CyberAgent's Ameba blog service.

Yodobashi Camera sells home appliance in Metaverse

Do you live in a Metaverse as well?

Yodobashi Camera Co.,Ltd., a major home appliance volume retailer in Japan, opens its virtual sales outlet in the 3-D Metaverse meet-me from December 2nd to 25th.

The virtual sales outlet deals in about 50 items including digital SLR camera, LCD TV set, and Blu-ray recorder.

The items ordered at the outlet will be home-delivered.

YouTube is surpassed by mixi in total time spent

The total amount of time spent at Japan-originated SNS giant mixi has been exploding since August 2009.

In terms of total amount of time spent, the SNS exceeded YouTube and took the second position behind Yahoo! Japan in October in Japan.

The SNS embraced application offering like Facebook in August, which helped the explosion.

Books published in Japan get out of Google Book Search

The Authors Guild, an American advocate of published writers, filed the amended settlement of the battle over the Google Book Search project with the court on November 13.

The settlement says that the project will involve books published in the U.S., Australia, Canada, and the U.K.

The Google Book Search project is to database published books that are stored in major libraries around the world so that they can be searched through via the Internet.
