Google Japan Inc. began to provide a service that shows earthquake information near the top of the search result list when it is retrieved on Google Japan's website for PC.
The service brings the user some information on the earthquakes that took place in the past six hours in Japan and/or the maximum intensity of which is two or higher.
The service is expected to adapt to cellphone in the near future.

mixi debuts Twitter-like service
Japan's SNS provider giant mixi, Inc. began to offer a micro-blogging service on September 17.
The service, which is called “mixi voice,” allows the user to exchange up-to-150-character messages with her/his mai-miku (my mixi friends) on her/his own top page in mixi's PC/mobile website.

Exit poll on Yahoo! Japan's site
Yahoo! Japan will on August 30 -- the election day for members of the House of Representatives -- establish a webpage on which its users can post the name of the political party they have voted.
Specifically, the “Exit Poll on the Internet” page, Which party have you voted?, will allow Yahoo! Japan's registered users to post the name of the political party the candidate they have voted in the single-seat constituency belongs to and the reason why they have voted the candidate.
The users' posts will be accepted from 8pm on August 30 to midnight on August 31 and shown on the map that pinpoints each of the single-seat constituencies.

The Twitter-dedicated website TwitterTweeter.jp provides not only Japan-specific information on Twitter but also overseas latest news, statistical data, and examples of corporate adoption regarding it in Japanese.
In addition, TwitterTweeter.jp is so novice-friendly as to show the procedures ranging from user registration to tweeting in detail.
The TwitterTweeter.jp operator Overtex Corp. will continue to improve the management of the website by conducting questionnaire surveys of the users from its own point of view.

Running returns to be delivered to cellphone by e-mail
A mobile website operated by a subsidiary of NHK (Nippon Hoso Kyokai: Japan Broadcasting Corp.) will provide an e-mail service that brings the cellphone users the running returns of the general election on August 30.
The website “NHK News & Sports” allows the cellphone users to register candidates they like to chase and receive an e-mail when the candidates are called winner by NHK on the election day.
Up to eight candidates per cellphone can be registered on the website by 7pm on August 30.

Google Japan provides election-related information (3)--Candidates answer questions
Google Japan Inc. on August 11 released the House of Representatives candidates' answers to the questions that had been posted by the users on its website Qs & As for Future.
As of the release, thirty-two videos were on view in which the candidates are answering.
Google Japan received answers from candidates until August 15.
