Sumitomo 3M has released a handheld projector

Sumitomo 3M Ltd. put a liquid-crystal projector on sale on January 21.

Its projector 3M Pocket Projector MP160 measures 150 x 65 x 30.5 mm and weighs 300 grams.

J:COM delivers movies from My French Film Festival (2) -- 210yen or 105yen

Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (J:COM) delivers movies available at the My French Film Festival from January 14 through January 29 as Japan's official partner of uniFrance.

The twenty movies selected by uniFrance are delivered by J:COM on its J:COM On Demand channel.

It costs the viewer ¥210 for a feature film and ¥105 for a short film.

E-book store for DoCoMo mobiles opens (2) -- XMDF, .book, BS Reader, JPEG

The 2Dfacto is the e-book store dedicated to NTT DoCoMo's smartphones and e-book reader that Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) Co., Ltd., NTT DoCoMo, Inc., CHI Group Co., Ltd., and their joint venture established on DoCoMo Market, the mobile website which delivers applications to DoCoMo's smartphones, on January 12.

It offers e-books viewable on DoCoMo's smartphones including Xperia, GALAXY S, GALAXY Tab, LYNX 3D, REGZA Phone, and Optimus chat and e-book reader SH-07C.

The e-books are available in the forms of XMDF, .book, BS Reader, and JPEG.

J:COM delivers movies from My French Film Festival (1) -- Official partner

Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (J:COM) announced on January 14 that it would work with uniFrance to deliver movies available at the My French Film Festival from January 14 through January 29.

J:COM serves as Japan's official partner of uniFrance.

E-book store for DoCoMo mobiles opens (1) -- 2Dfacto

Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) Co., Ltd., NTT DoCoMo, Inc., CHI Group Co., Ltd., and their joint venture announced on January 11 that they will establish an e-book store for DoCoMo's smartphones and book reader.

Their e-book store “2Dfacto” is on DoCoMo Market, the mobile website that delivers applications to DoCoMo's smartphones.

The 2Dfacto e-book store deals in literary works and comic books which are registered at DNP's e-book service “honto.”

NEC to launch Android laptop (2) -- For consumers first

The laptop PC that NEC Corp. exhibited at the 2011 International CES is based on Android 2.2.

It has an NVIDIA Tegra processor and a 7-inch touch-sensitive WVGA screen.

NEC is expected to launch it targeting consumers first in terms of its security features.

Panasonic to launch Android tablet (2) -- In three sizes

The VIERA Tablet is a series of its tablet PC based on Android 2.2 that will hit the shelves in Japan within 2011.

It will come in three screen size of 4-, 7-, and 10-inch.

They all will feature Wi-Fi connections, but will not connect to any 3G networks.
