Wireless solar-powered keyboard from Logicool

Logicool, a Japan subsidiary of Switzerland's Logitech International S.A., will launch a wireless solar-powered keyboard on December 15.

Its keyboard Logicool Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 has a price tag of ¥7,980 on Logicool's website.

It works with a Windows XP/Vista/7 PC that carries the company's proprietary USB wireless receiver.

Apple TV makes inroads into Japan (2) -- YouTube available

The Apple TV allows you to watch not only movies from the iTunes but also videos from the YouTube on a TV set.

It measures 98 x 98 x 23 mm and weighs 272 grams.

It also has Wi-Fi features (a/b/g/n) and interfaces of HDMI and Ethernet.

HTC's own cloud service HTC Sence.com

HTC Corp. announced on November 12 that it will provide a cloud service for the HTC Desire HD.

Its own cloud service HTC Sence.com will allow the user to store her/his address book and lock her/his HTC Desire HD or wipe it remotely via the dedicated Web site when she/he loses it.

Apple TV makes inroads into Japan (1) -- 8,800 yen

Apple Inc. will put the Apple TV on sale in Japan with a price tag of ¥8,800 this week.

The Apple TV is a kind of STB (set top box) that connects to a TV set.

The sales of the Apple TV will be synchronized with the launch of Apple's movie delivery service on the iTunes in Japan.

Sharp pulls plug on PC business

Sharp Corp. announced on October 22 that it had decided to pull out of its PC businesses.

Sharp said it will focus on service-oriented units such as the GALAPAGOS, its Android-based e-book reader.

The last PCs that Sharp put on sale were the PC-NJ series, which hit the market in October 2009.

HDD stores complete Harry Potter series

Buffalo Inc. announced on November 2 that it will work with Tokyo, Japan-based Warner Home Video and Digital Distribution to launch two types of hard disk drive (HDD) that store Harry Potter movies.

Buffalo's external desktop HDD “HD-LB1.0TU2/HPX6” and portable one “HD-PCT500U2/HPX6” with the six Harry Potter movies and a video clip of the sequel stored on them are expected to go on sale in early November.

Kindle's new features (3) -- Newspaper and magazine

In addition to the feature to transfer e-books bought on the Kindle, Amazon.com said on October 22 that some newspapers and magazines will be available on handhelds through their Kindle application.

Amazon.com is expected to release an application for Apple's handhelds iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch first, and then one for Google's handheld Android to display newspapers and magazines.
