Tsutaya TV Co., Ltd. announced on October 4 that it has entered into a contract with Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan (SPEJ) Inc. to begin to sell SEPJ's movies online on October 20.
The subscriber to the Tsutaya TV video delinery service will be able to download and pay for latest movies provided by SEPJ at ¥3,675 or older ones at ¥1,880.
Tsutaya TV and SEPJ are expected to lend SEPJ's movies online by means of VOD (video on demand) system in the near future.

Sharp to launch cloud media business (2) -- Two tablet devices are based on Android
Sharp's two tablet devices dedicated to its GALAPAGOS cloud media business are based on Android OS.
One of the devices has a 5.5-inch screen of 1024 x 600 pixels, and the other has a 10.8-inch screen of 1366 x 800 pixels.
Both of them feature Wi-Fi b/g.

A ten-minute 3D TV program to broadcast on BS Asahi
Asahi Satellite Broadcasting Limited and Panasonic Corporation announced on October 1 that they will begin to broadcast a ten-minute 3D music TV program regularly on November 1.
Their program Panasonic 3D MUSIC STADIO will be on air Monday through Friday - 11:50pm to midnight.

TV stations deliver 3D videos to Nintendo 3DS
Nintendo Co., Ltd. announced on September 29 that it has concluded a business tie-up contract with Nippon Television Network Corporation and Fuji Television Network, Inc. to get 3D content from them for its portable game console.
The portable game console Nintendo 3DS is expected to go on sale on February 26, 2011.

Sharp to launch cloud media business (1) -- Two dedicated devices
Sharp Corp. announced its new project “cloud media business” on September 27.
The project consists of providing a content delivery service and shipping its dedicated tablet devices.
The service of e-book store and shipment of two tablet devices will begin in December as the first step.
Its business and devices are collectively called GALAPAGOS.

Columnar digital signage in a subway station
Columnar digital signage displays were installed in Ginza station of Tokyo Metro on September 22 and will be shown through September 26.
The displays are to conduct an advertising campaign for Asahi Soft Drinks Co., Ltd.'s canned coffee WANDA.
